Professor Teresa Cid is the professor of American Studies at the University of Lisbon, School of Arts and Humanities. She is now Director of the Confucius Institute of the University of Lisbon (ULisboa) - Recipient of the  2016 Confucius Institute Individual Performance Excellence Award and Scientific Coordinator of the University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies. From 2011 to 2013, she was Vice-Rector of ULisboa. From 2008-2011, she was Member of the General Council of ULisboa. From 2007 to 2015, she was Coordinator of American Studies, School of Arts and Humanities, ULisboa. From 2009 to 2011, she was Director of Languages, Literatures and Cultures undergraduate degree, School of Arts and Humanities, ULisboa. 

She is a negotiator of the Consortium for the teaching of Portuguese in China, a protocol signed by the University of Lisbon and Beijing Foreign Studies University concerning teacher-training of Chinese teachers of Portuguese and teaching of Portuguese language in China; witness to the signing of this Consortium on 14 May 2014. She is also representative of the higher education institutions of Portugal in the Ministry of Education of Portugal Pilot-Program Monitoring Committee, since October 2015.
