Mr Ahmed graduate Master of Arts in Development Studies With specialization in Economic Development: in the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague -The Netherlands; He also graduated Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University, California.
Mr Ahmed has close to 20 years of public services, most of it in senior Federal and regional leadership positions. He was minister of ministry of industry for five years. He was managing the ministry with 28 directorates and 8 specialized research institutes and agencies. In addition to coordinating and leading the formulation of the industrial develop-ment strategy in the aspiration of structural transformation the Ethiopian economy He has served a chairman of the board of directors of more than 5 private and state owned enterprises.
Mr Ahmed served deputy president of the Amhara regional state, which is the second largest regional state in Ethiopia In addition to providing support to the president of the region He was responsible for:-Urban development in the region which includes devel-opment, utilities, infrastructure development, vocational and technical trainings, in all zonal and district level urban Development of Small and Medium scale industries at all levels of cities Development of policies and incentive regimes to attract domestic and international investors into the region Mr Ahmed also served at different leadership position at the regional government at two different government terms.
