Founded in May 1977, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(CASS) is the first-class and comprehensive academic institution in China's Academia and enjoys the world reputation. It covers almost all fields of social sciences, including 31 research institutes, 45 research centers and nearly 300 secondary and tertiary disciplines. There are more than 3,200 scientific research personnel, among them 1,676 senior professionals. CASS has a comprehensive library and many professional libraries with a collection of over 5.37 million books. CASS has established exchange relations with about 200 social science research institutions, academic groups, institutions of higher learning, foundations and relevant government departments in more than 80 countries or regions.
