ACCRA, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- China's resolve at the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) has inspired hope for the future, Ghanaian experts said.
In an exclusive interview with Xinhua on Monday, Anani Demuyakor, former Ghanian ambassador to China, said China's resolve at the conference set the tone for the future of China-Africa cooperation.
"With the COVID-19 demonstrating the need for countries to get closer, China has laid the foundation for a prosperous future together with its partners," he said.
"China and Africa will walk side by side towards achieving significant results under the FOCAC framework," he noted.
As China has demonstrated sincere goodwill under the FOCAC, the African countries need to show the same sincerity, so as to enhance cooperation between Africa and China, he added.
"The conference is a new dawn to enrich the ongoing fruitful cooperation between China and Africa, (as) both sides seek a win-win situation," said Benjamin Anyagre, general secretary of the Ghana-China Friendship Association.
Anyagre said it was reassuring to hear that China will continue helping African countries fight against COVID-19 and recover their economies from the impact of the pandemic.
"Indeed, China has proven beyond doubt through its hard work and experience, that it is capable of dealing with the pandemic through scientific and pragmatic means," he said.
"It is gratifying to note that China is prepared to continue sharing that experience and expertise with Africa," he added.
